ABPI - Resources for Schools

I like the way in which keywords are explained. This is especially useful for students seeking extension material who may not have covered the information in such detail before.

Human and Animal Habitats

Different living things like to live in places that suit their needs, and that includes humans.

Find out about the different habitats and the needs of the animals that live there.

Human and animal habitats are explored by considering different environments and the animals that live there. The activity tests pupils knowledge of the environment and of the needs of different animals.

The following environments are covered:

  • Antarctic
  • Desert
  • Savannah grassland
  • Temperate farmland
  • Temperate forest
  • Temperate pond
  • The sea
  • Tropical rainforest

Worksheets are provided to extend the opportunities for discussion of what animals need to survive and therefore why they live in different habitats.
